Our Animals

Grocery store meat labels "enhanced with a solution" of unknown origin in growing percentages prompted us to start raising our own meat animals. We raise all of our animals as naturally as possible, on our rocky, hillside pastures.

Laying Hens

Chickens were the first animals here on the farm. A veteran farmer at the feed store referred to them as "the gateway drug of farming." He couldn't have been more right!

Heritage Turkeys

Heritage Bronze Turkeys are available every year for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Averaging 20-25 pounds

Berkshire Pigs

Berkshire Pork is prized in culinary circles for it's full flavor, without an over-abundance of lard. We offer piglets to grow out, pigs ready for the butcher, and occasionally breeding animals.

Icelandic Sheep

Icelandic sheep are well suited to our hillside. They clear brush to create their own pastures, and are extremely cold-tolerant. The meat is very mild flavored and tender, even from animals over a year old. We offer animals ready to butcher, and starter flocks

Broilers

Naturally raised, farm fresh chicken tastes nothing like chicken available at the grocery store. Every time we have friends over for a meal, they are amazed at the full flavor of our chicken.

Eggs

Our Layer flock provides a colorful array of eggs, with a great flavor and aroma. At times, they lay more eggs than we can consume! When they do, we have eggs available for sale.
